Getting Started: How To Find Law Society Discipline Decisions

The Law Society Tribunal, which has a Hearing Division and an Appeal Division, issues orders that affect the status of Ontario lawyers or paralegals to practice law or provide legal services. Orders may also address other matters, such as costs. The Tribunal issues written or oral reasons for most though not all decisions it gives.

Orders and Reasons 1999 -

• orders may be searched by Licensee or Applicant Name, or browsed by year
• where available, links to reasons on CanLII are provided
• judicial review or appeals are noted

Orders and reasons are public unless there is an order to the contrary. Requests for a copy of a specific order or reasons can be made by contacting the Tribunal.
